Medical receptionist
Job Description & Selection Criteria
Medical receptionist.
Attend patients
Answer telephone enquiries.
Make appointments.
Process accounts and receipts.
Report typing.
Balance daily accounts.
Data entry
Prepare patient lists for next session.
Filing as required(minimal as "paperless office").
Assist/chaperone medical procedures(chorionic villus sampling & amniocentesis.
Prepare consulting room for next session
General house(office) keeping duties:
e.g re-stock consulting room. tidy waiting room area.
Selection Criteria:
The successful applicant will have a mature, confident and pleasant disposition.
Excellent communicator.
Articulate and responsible.
Methodical approach to work practice and an eye for detail.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Competent typist,computer literate.
Presentation is important as the person is the first point of contact with patients and referring doctors alike, therefore appropriate business dress is required.
Previous medical rooms experience will be highly regarded.
Flexibility in relation to covering vacation leave is also required. (This may be at our rooms located in East Hawthorn as well as the Fitzroy site).
