Assistant in Nursing
MacKillop Aged Care, a residential aged care service located in Surry Hills, requires permanent part-time Assistants in Nursing, for the evening shift, to join our team in our high-care facility in providing quality resident care and effective management of daily living as directed by our clinical leadership.
As the right person to join our team you are:
* Professional in appearance and manner, including your approach and empathy toward residents, visitors and other staff.
* Able to follow instructions and work under the guidance of Registered Nursing staff .
* Prepared to work as part of a team as directed and willing to undertake other duties as directed.
* Able to learn new tasks and processes in a timely manner.
* Computer literate and possess good verbal and written communication skills.
* Committed to developing your skills and advancing your knowledge.
* Fluent in both spoken and written English.
Essential qualifications:
* Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or other equivalent, or undertaking a course in health sciences.
* Current first aid certificate.
* Police clearance – issued by the Australian Federal Police.
Desirable qualifications:
* Experience in aged care.
* Knowledge of and application of Safe Manual Handling practices.
These positions are on a casual basis and remuneration is inclusive of a generous salary package and is in accordance with the Nursing Homes and Community Nurses (State) Award.
